Back from a long hiatus from blogging. I can still see my 2010 posts below, even 2009s are still here. (horrible)

New Year Resolutions from last year:

1. Get an A for IHP so that I can achieve my targeted average GPA of 3.5!
2. A place in Civil Engineering in local university
3. A job after graduation
4. Earn and save $$$
5. Chop off my fats and reduce weight (hmm.. this is the hardest of all)
6. Maintain good relationship with boyfriend

Hmmm.. I guess I did achieved at least 4 or 5 of them, which I think its good! :D

So what's in for 2011?

1. I ~~shall~~ must start studying hard and smart. Aim to get a second class.

Mum told me that she just want me to pass. (felt quite relieved when she said that, usually she expects more from me.)

2. Drive safe and pass TP when the time comes! (no rush)

Just began learning how to drive. Seems scary. (you know I'm alittle clumsy)

3. Get a good holiday job!

Gotta work and save up for driving lessons!

4. Same as last year, maintain good relationship with boyfriend! (its an ongoing thing. heeeeh. )

Darling would be busy this year! Which means less time together. :( I hope we can still meet at least once or twice a week! Ahhh. Lets say we meet twice a week. We only get to spend 28% out of 365 days together in a year. Sounds quite little. Boohoooo. (I know I must be more understanding.)

5. Exercise more and lose more fats. (another ongoing thing)

I think I have reached some threshold that my weight remains stagnant for quite a long time. (small fluctuations excluded) Of course it's good to exercise more and at least keep in shape! No expanding!

Yeapppp.. That's about it.

Life of a Civil Servant

It's been 2 months working at MOM! Still adaptable to monotonous working life.

Now I'm so used to waking up at 7 am in the morning,

catching the 7.47 am or 7.52 am train,

travelling to Tiong Bahru MRT,

getting mr bean soya milk with tuna/chocolate pancake or bahu and cheese nacho bread from breadtalk for breakfast or (kfc porridge fortnightly),

waiting for buses (once you miss them at 8.25 am, you have to wait for another 10 minutes),

passing by Burger King at Great World City and thinking of whether to buy it for breakfast tmr,

walking into the workplace thinking of whether to smile at the security guards. (maybe not)

Have been doing tons of powerpoints, revising instruction manuals, killing hundreds of trees by working like a photocopy shop auntie and some random admin stuff. Sounds easy but occasionally it might drive you crazy.

This WAS my workplace with larger tables and privacy! We even set up our own pantry over there!

The interns took over our seats and now we shifted down to a freezing cold shed with size of 3/5 of my previous table. Looks more like a warehouse with "great wall of ~~china~~ envelopes" behind my seat. :(

But it's okay, we still get to sit and go for lunch together. One bad thing about working at Kim Seng Road: You either dine at Great World City (food court highly not recommended) or Zion Riverside Market.

Sianzx, it's Monday again tomorrow. You gotta get back to work after a long weekend!

Laos Community Service Trip (PART I)

Day 1 - Changi Airport

Flight to KL was delayed from 10.50pm to 11.35pm. But still, we had to wait till 8am for flight to Laos. Since we can't sleep, we kept ourselves entertained with Monopoly Deal. Haha!

Day 2 - Starbucks for breakfast, Hot chocolate & Strawberry Donut!

Time to check in our baggage and head to Laos after a 7-hour wait! Finally get to have some rest on the plane. Haven't slept for more than a day. (look at my eyebags and dark circles.)

Oh finally, welcome to Laos! Btw, the time zone is different. Laos is an hour behind Singapore.

Had a buffet lunch before we check in to Dragon Lodge. Look at the amount of veges! Yuck*

Chai Kee and I shared a room. Gonna stay for a night before we leave for Vang Vieng. Visited the Lao National Musuem after settling down. Ahhhh.. CPCO left me over there. :( I think I walked too slow. So I went back to the lodge alone. Luckily its just a 5 min walk! Hahah.

Dinner with live cultural performance! Looks quite high class.

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Love the sweeten eggs. Love the chicken wings. Love everything especially the orange juice! Of cause the veges are excluded!

Sticky rice! Gotta eat with hands. The person taught us to use the rice to wash our hands before dining.

Day 3 - Rise and shine. Breakfast time!

Had 'kao-piak" (noodles with pork ribs) for breakfast! Its a Vietnamese dish btw.

Yay! And you tiao!

After a 3 hour bus ride along the bumpy mountain roads, we arrived Vang Vieng Organic Farm! :D

Met Mr and Mrs T, the owners of the farm.

This is our room! I think its the nicest room at the farm! Hiakhiak. We're lucky! Others have to squeeze into rooms of 5 to 7.

A very good spot for studying or using laptop. Hmmm..

Then Mr. T brought us around the farm for some orientation..

Vietnam War leftovers. FYI, Laos is the world's most bombed country!

I know I look like some Lao village girl over here. Hahaha.

2009 has been good, at least better than 2008.

School

Achieved my targeted grades for the last two semesters.
Worked hard for projects and exams.
But I'm still late for lectures and tutorials.
IHP at NP is the right choice.

Money

Waited 2 months and got my iPhone. $$$ fly
Laptop crashed, sent in for repair thrice. $$$ fly x 2
Laptop pronounced dead, got a new one. $$$ fly x 3
Bought a portable harddisk just in case anything happen to my laptop. $$$ fly x 4
Paid almost $900 for Laos trip. $$$ fly x 5

I haven't been working much this year. So the income <<< expenditure!

Health

Gained dunno how many kgs this year. ZZZ.
Maybe the weighing scale is spoiled. Haha!
But I haven't been eating as much as I did last year.
God is so unfair.

At least I didn't fall sick.

CCA

Practised tkd for a year.
Sometimes I'm afraid that I might break my limbs. Haha!
IVP was a good experience. I still haven't get my jacket! 10 months already! Zzz.

As for SJAB, hardly attend trainings due to schoolwork.
And sometimes I think I lost the passion.

Relationship

It all happened so fast.
I'm glad that I found him. :D

Did some cleaning a few days back.

Too many soft toys, think I have only 3/5 of the space of my bed to sleep on.

Mum just dumped my panda which I keep it since primary 3! My 10 years companion!

10 yearrssssssssss! Its more than half of my lifetime. Poor pandaaaaaaa :(

And now doggie is washed and hanged outside the window.

Oh btw, I've handed in my interim report! YAY!

This 70-page report is the longest that I have ever written.

40% assessment, its equivalent to an exam already!

Now its time to work on phase 2 and final report.

15 weeks gone, 8 more weeks to go.

26 more working days, excluding fridays and public holidays! :D

Having our POA teacher chasing us from classroom to art room. (yes we ran all the way.)
Go out of school for a random bus ride with KK and Shirley when we were supposed to be in class. (saturday's art class)
Hiding behind a wall and tried to scare my friends when they come out from the toilet
Wave to people like a ghost at night.
Hang out with friends at 812 instead of going home straight after school.
Hitting people with water bottles.
Laugh out really loud in class.
Brisk walk from my house to the backgate, hoping that it wasn't closed at 7.30 am.
Late for school, detention outside the office/ at the parade square.
Not paying attention during lesson, play pick-up sticks using our stationaries.
Trying to act like I'm reading during the reading period. (actually I was sleeping)

and so much more.. I can't remember now.

I'm back to update you, finally.

August was a hectic and tedious month for me.
Body clock was totally screwed.
Had been studying throughout the night and went to school straight for exams.
Hopefully my hardwork would pay off.
Would be getting our results tmr.
I CAN'T WAIT.

We were given a so-not-enough-1-week-holiday before IHP commenced.

Engineering Showcase @ National Library

Spent 2 days rotting at the National Library.
Its a total waste of time seriously.
Only one uncle came and asked questions about our project.

Prawning

The four of us went to prawning, very impromptu-ly after the job training.
Lucky day. Taxi driver gave us discount.
Some random uncle gave Yuhan and I all his catch.
Even staffs at the prawning site gave us around 10+ extra.
Feel a little bad when Yuhan poke those prawns alive. -.-
Sorry prawniessssssss.

Wuhan Love Reunion <3

Its our one year anniversary on 25th Aug!
But due to exams, we postponed it to the 28th.
Had a really great time with Chaikee, Shar, Yvonne and Rebecca at Suki Sushi.
I really really misssssssssssss the times we had in Wuhan.
Sometimes, I would randomly browse through the photos we took a year ago. haha!
I gotta say that the 42 days trip, is one of the best parts of my life!

TKD Freshman Orientation Camp!

15th to 17th May

Hello stalkers, Jia Min is back from the camp!

I'm soooo sotong that I forgot to bring jacket and form to camp! Thanks Chuck for getting the jacket for me! :D

First day of camp was boring actually, I forgot how and why Zhen Liang, Eugene and I gotta do forfeit. Felt really stupid standing there as a "pole". And worst still, Eugene was the innocent one! haha!

Second day was much better, with Thu Thuy and Nad around! The unarmed combat training was really funnnnnnn! They taught us how to breakfall like some stuntmen from Mediacorp, slamming people on the floor and some self defence. My partner Nicola actually enjoyed being slammed on the floor. Jovian made me ROFL really hard with his "recovery-from-breakfall action" (like some ancient martial art you see on tv). Too bad I don't have the chance to video it down!!

Oh no I really look fat in this picture! And can you imagine the girl standing beside me is actually 1.75m?! Taller than me by 10cm. GOSH!!

Watched "Spin-Kick" after AGM! It's a korean taekwondo related movie. Although I was 3/4 dead, I still managed to survive through the movie. I think I KO-ed before lights off!

Third day of the camp, had light training straight after breakfast. Spar with Nicola first, the one who stands at 1.75m with super long legs. Second was Yan Jin who stood there till I told her to kick me.

Then our legs clashed. Didn't wear shin guards somemore.
FCYZ. Used to get my shin hit by Benson. ROAR.
Now it got knocked again, not once by twice.
Left me baika for few days again.
Now I have a huge patch of ugly bruise on my leg. T_T

Hello stalkers,

Can't remember what I really did during the last 2 weeks of my holiday.

But I have certainly enjoyed it!

Had a good good friday with the girls, shopping, chilling, blah. We took neoprints just like what we always did during secondary school days! (i think some people are going to say i have photocopy smile lor! hahahaa)

Its really hard to the FOUR of us to hang out together! (right shirley?) Next time I'm gonna upload our "jupiter" photo we took almost 5 years ago!

Yesterday's grading was alright. The judge called Thuy and my name, maybe our hair look alike. Don't think any of us failed, cause I think it's hard to fail even if you make a little mistake. Not expecting a double this time, but i wouldn't mind having one. :)

17 again-ed with Brendan and met up with Yuhan, Singyee and Eddie afterward. ZZZ.. Eddie made me took the wrong bus lor. Luckily I was smart enough to alight before the bus headed back to JP. Anyways, thanks Yuhan for the souvenirs ah!

Okay, back to school.

No more nuaing at home. :(

First day of school was pretty boring. Most of the modules are more of calculations than theory. (i don't know whether its good or bad for me) Having more calculation modules meaning I can't skip class/late/sleep/wadever already, unlike Project Management. I really think that I have never attend tutorial lessons before for PM. -.-

We have 1 week to get everything done and present to the lecturer and directors. Can't imagine we are actually doing this. Like what Chucky said, its a "HIGH-END" project! Best if we can camp at Loft and chiong our project over the weekend! But I don't really think its possible. Okay, gonna start the ball rolling tomorrow!

It has been a loooooong time since I went to JB.

But, didn't do much shopping this time round, only eat and eat since I'm not paying for it! hahaa

Went to make Mum's namecards cause she said its so much cheaper over there + instant collection.

And the new checkpoint at JB is so aesthetically pleasing, thousand times better than the previous one!

Now, Singapore's checkpoint looks really laoya compared to JB's.

Then there were some people who looked as if they were stalking us when we were having lunch. -.- Dad thought I was abducted by some unknowns when I actually went to buy bubble tea. Maybe I took too long to queue for one and he couldn't reach me through my phone. Anyway, we encountered bad experience from past JB trip. Dad had his pocket picked while we were walking along the streets. So people, please guard your belongings!

I've been rotting at home for most of the time!

All girlfriends are having attachment! ROAR.

Went out for a couple of movies.
Played maple and mobtv-ed.

Taekwondo-ed and had my calf muscles strained.
Well, I'm alright now. (just baika-ed for a few days)
But I think I'm having some shin bone closed fracture or wadever quite some time ago.
I can't be bothered.
All because of benson's kick la!
I can still feel that little deformity!
And my sprained wrist gets occasional pains also, which I think its normal.
Shall stop ranting about it now.

I think I'm gonna look out for better jobs next time!

okay, i'm back from the camp with aches all over.

managed to survive the camp.

proud to complete the campus run, first time okay! GOSH!!

can't imagine running up such steep slopes in ngeeann at first.

and i considered myself lucky for not being one of the sparring peeps,

would have died during day 2 morning.

so lets check out the loft@94, the totally ikea np hostel!

kitchen, with no stove, but there's a fridge by the side!

living room, with no tv, but two sofa beds and table.

COUNTDOWN!

Couldn't make a choice of where and who to go with.
It was soooooooo last minute.
So I decided to do some first aid duty with gekmin, chinguan, leon, meiyee, tianle and dingjun at boonlay.

Met tianle for dinner first.
Pretty boring at first, but we managed to find something to keep us entertained.
Then we went "patrolling" around the area.
Han and eddie were so kind to come and find me hor!
Met KK and JJ there also.
And the fireworks lasted for less than a minute?
What can we expect in a neighbourhood countdown?

There was a casualty in the ambulance when we headed back.
Heard there he was drunk and fell down, got his head and arm wounded.
The police sent him to us.
Got him treated and sent him home.

Managed to come back on time and went to find han and eddie.
Changed and headed home with them. (:

Looking back at my new year resolutions made last year. haha!

1. Didn't managed to earn much money! Went for OIP and I did spent quite alot!

2. Didn't slim down, in fact became fatter. (especially after I came back from China)

3. 2008 wasn't a really happy year. But second half of the year got better. (i think.)

4. GPA dropped. T_T

5. Have I got healtier? Maybe after joining a new CCA?

1. Officer Training Course

Went through 7 weeks of course day, 3 day 2 night camp and several projects.
Campfire Committee - Finance.
Course 2IC for one of the course day.
Triage IC during camp.
NFAC timekeeper.
AGI - didn't attend.
Couldn't attend the OTC passing out ceremony!

2. OIP China, Wuhan
This is the most enriching part of the year!
Got to go overseas without my parents for the second time.
Survived with less than SGD 1000 for almost two months.
Got to know really good friends! Yvonne, Shar, Rebecca and Joon!
Faced Chai Kee for 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. 42 days in China! GOSH!!
AND I GET TO SEE A REAL LIFE PANDA. :D

3. Went to Zoo (twice this year)
Last trip to zoo was in sec 3 i think.
First time this year was with poly classmates!
Second time was with yuhan and friends!
Don't think I would go to zoo for the next few years. lol.

4. Worked in BCA for 1.5 month
Got to know xinying, wanling and others.
I like vegetarian food for the first time. (only at chinatown's.)

5. Worked in IT Fair for 4 days
It was tiring but fun!
Got to know a couple of friends.
Chionged for the last train with Shirley.
Found out that the sales people earned like a few times more than the admin! ROARR.

6. Hanged out with the girls
Met up with shirley and girls more often.
For movies, meals, shopping, blahhh.

7. SJAB
Sec 1 orientation committee.
Promoted to CSO Grade 6.
Get to wear safari for the first time.
Hardly take part in zone events.
Busy with school, can't attend friday trainings.

8. Relationship
Lasted for 5 months I think.
Feel really relieved after we broke up.
Still friends now.

9. Birthday
Celebrated with mum with a cake.
We haven't got a cake for our birthday for so long!

Bought a watch for myself which cost me quite alot.

10. Joined a new CCA

Went for night cycling after the last paper! Poor kenny had to finish his 10-can heineken. I think we cycled almost the entire east of Singapore. Legs were cramped. Downhill was super shiok! Managed to chiong all the way along the endless road. Almost got lost around bedok reservoir park. -.-

Reached our destination at around 5am and nua-ed at Mac.

Home sweet home at almost 8am. Phew~

Surprisingly my legs don't that much hurt when I wake up.

I feel that this semester is so much relaxed than the previous ones.

I'm finally back from China. Rebonded my hair ok. CK dyed red and rebonded too. (:

Firstly, I learnt how to scold vulgarities from Yvonne! HAHA!
No lah. She only taught me a line call: ma de ge ba zi. (don't ask me the meaning)
Shall greet her with this line whenever I see her in school!

The food in China is CHEAP. Especially those on the street.
One bowl of fried rice for like 70 cents!
3 dollars for Zi Cha! Free flow of rice somemore!
One stick of squid for 20 cents!

For clothing wise, there are some bugis street lookalikes.
You can find inexpensive clothings as well.
But they usually charge you at really high price.
You really have to bargin to half of the selling price man.
But too bad, winter time is coming.
So you can hardly find clothings for summer. =/

Went to historical and tourists sites such as the Red Chamber, Botanical Garden, Zoo, Museum, Wudang Shan, The Three Gorges and many more.

Never regret signing up for this trip man!
I'll miss the times I had in China with my groupmates Shar, Yvon, Becca, Joon and CK tang!
And of course, Auntie Tian who took care of us for the 42 days.

Shall meet up with groupmates this sat. =D

I think its pretty okay for this semester, though the GPA i got this time is lower than previous semesters. Surprisingly I scored AD for my IS, exploring arts and design. My first AD in poly okay! HAHHAAA.

Had SUDD test today. Quite alright. Hopefully I'll get good grades for both modules!
Wish me good luck cause I'll be having IBS test this Friday!
